Free summer fireworks displays held every Friday at 10pm on the Bournemouth seafront, from 24 July to 28 August 2026.
Bournemouth Summer Fireworks are back for 2026, with free displays every Friday night on the seafront from 24 July to 28 August. They go off at 10pm, just east of the pier, so if you're already down by the water, you're in the right place. It's a family-friendly run, and since it's free, it's as easy as just turning up.

There's a bit of a story behind them this year. The displays are funded by Bournemouth Coastal BID, and the aim is to encourage people to stay a bit longer and spend more at the hotels and businesses along the seafront. Fiona McArthur, head of the BID, says hoteliers and hospitality venues name the fireworks as one of the things visitors value most during the summer. Councillor Richard Herrett, who looks after destination, leisure and business operations at BCP Council, puts it this way: 'Fireworks are a real highlight of the summer calendar, and weโre delighted to see them return again through the summer. They bring our communities together and create lasting memories for both residents and visitors alike.'
Because they're free and run every Friday, they tend to draw big crowds, so it pays to get there early if you want a good spot. The organisers suggest using public transport and making use of the nearby bars and restaurants while you wait. It's also worth keeping an eye on the weather, as the displays can change or be cancelled at short notice if things get too windy or rainy. If you're around during August, there's a separate run of fireworks at Poole Quay on Thursday nights, so between the two, there's plenty to choose from.
To recap: every Friday from 24 July to 28 August, 10pm, Bournemouth seafront east of the pier, free entry.
