McIntyre's rise has been a quick one. He started out busking on Shop Street in Galway during his university years, and it was there that he built the following that eventually landed him a spot supporting Gavin James on his European tour. In the summer of 2024, he released Over Galway Town, which went viral with more than 50 million views on TikTok and millions of plays on Spotify. Since then, he's worked with Imelda May and toured as a support for Jamie Webster and The 502s. This year he's been playing across Ireland, and the Brighton date sits alongside shows in London and Glasgow as he extends his reach into the UK.
He describes his music as authentic, rooted in community and lived experience, with songs that circle back to love and a nostalgia for home. It's singer-songwriter territory, so the focus is on the voice and the lyrics rather than a big band around him. If you're into indie-folk and the sort of thing that comes from a singer-songwriter working solo, this is right in that wheelhouse.
The show starts at 19:30, and tickets are £13 on DICE and £14.65 on See Tickets. It's a paid event, and since the prices vary slightly between platforms, it's worth picking whichever one you're already set up on.
