An indie music session tailored for the over 30s, featuring live mixes of classic indie tracks from the 70s to the 2000s by the Feeling Gloomy and Old School Indie collectives.
Over 30s Afternoon of Indie is coming to Dust Brighton on Saturday 12 September, from 15:00 to 19:00. It's a daytime indie session built for an older crowd, and it brings together three names you might recognise from the local scene: Old School Indie, Feeling Gloomy, and Age Against The Machine. Old School Indie, which bills itself as "the indie night for the over 30s", is teaming up with Feeling Gloomy and Age Against The Machine for this one, so if you've caught any of them separately before, this is a bit of a crossover.

The music comes from the DJs at Feeling Gloomy and Old School Indie, who'll be spinning a mix of indie classics from across several decades. They've summed it up pretty plainly: "whether you were a 70s punk, 80s new waver, 90s britpopper or early 00s poser there'll be something for everyone". It's a broad sweep of the genre, so it doesn't matter which era you started with — the set is designed to hit all of them. If you're over 30 and fancy a few hours of indie without having to stay out until the early hours, this is exactly that.
Dust is at 77 East Street, right in the centre of town, and the session runs from 15:00 to 19:00, so you're home well before dinner. Tickets are £11.70, and if you can't make the 12th, there's a second session the following Saturday, 19 September, also from 15:00 to 19:00.
