The first UK tour production of Burlesque the Musical, with Faye Brookes in the lead role, at the Grand Opera House.
Burlesque the Musical opens at the Grand Opera House on 23 March 2027, running through to 3 April. It's the first UK tour production of the show, which takes the 2010 film and puts it on stage. The story follows Ali, who travels to New York in search of her mother and finds herself in an underground world of ambition, desire, music and dance. It's built around themes of self-discovery and empowerment, and the soundtrack pulls from Christina Aguilera, Sia, Diane Warren, Todrick Hall and Jess Folley.

Faye Brookes takes the lead as Tess Richarde, the role Cher played in the original film. Brookes is well known for her time on Coronation Street and other stage work. She's joined by Ryan Carter, who was recently in Titanique in the West End, and Gracie O’Brien, a recent graduate making her professional stage debut. Behind the scenes, Steven Antin produced, wrote and served as creative director, with Racky Plews directing and Robin Antin, the creator of the Pussycat Dolls, on choreography.
The show has already played the West End, where London Theatre called it "a feast of sequins, spotlights and sensual striptease" and London Theatre Reviews described it as "a show that dazzles". It's a cabaret-style musical, so it leans into the glitz and the dance, and the run in York is part of its first tour around the UK.
Tickets are on sale through ATG Tickets, and the show runs from 23 March to 3 April 2027 at the Grand Opera House.
