My Girl the River bring their genre-blending Americana, roots and singer-songwriter sound live, with special guest Sadie Jemmett.
My Girl the River play The Folklore Rooms on Thursday 10 September, with Sadie Jemmett opening. It's a full-band show, so you'll get the whole sound rather than just a singer-songwriter set.

The set will lean on their fourth album, Manifest Good Things, which comes out on 4 September — just six days before the gig. They'll be playing new songs from that alongside older material, so the night pulls from both the new record and the songs they've built their reputation on. The album itself came together through a crowdfunding campaign and features several guest artists, and it's the record they're touring this autumn.
Their sound sits at the crossing of Americana, roots, and singer-songwriter, with a folk edge that comes through in the live set. Over the years they've shared stages with Suzanne Vega, Laura Cantrell, Kim Richey, Darden Smith, and Boo Hewerdine, and that same Americana and roots territory is where they're still working. If you're into folk, country, and singer-songwriter music, this is exactly the kind of thing that fits.
It's a paid event, with tickets at £16. The show starts at 19:30, and with Sadie Jemmett supporting, there's two acts on the bill. The Folklore Rooms is in Brighton, and the whole thing runs on Thursday night.
