Screening of the classic film ET -- The Extra-Terrestrial to mark its 20th anniversary, featuring digital enhancements and previously unseen scenes.
Harbour Lights Picturehouse is screening ET -- The Extra-Terrestrial this Saturday 27 June, part of the 20th anniversary celebrations for Steven Spielberg's classic. It's a family-friendly one, described as a fantastic adventure for children and 'adult kids' alike, so it's as much for the parents as it is for the little ones.

This isn't just the version you remember. For the anniversary, Spielberg went back and re-edited the film with some 'digital tinkering'. ET's eyes have been tweaked to look a bit more alien, and there are scenes that never made it to the big screen before, like ET having a bath. He also scrubbed out all the weaponry, so the authorities carry mobile phones instead of guns. It's a bit of a different cut, so even if you've seen it a dozen times, there's something new to catch.
If Saturday doesn't work, there's a second screening on Sunday 5 July at 13:00, so you've got two chances to see it. The cinema is Harbour Lights Picturehouse, on Maritime Walk in Ocean Village, SO14 3TL. It's a three-screen site with a gallery and a bar overlooking the marina, and it's wheelchair accessible, which is handy if you're bringing the whole family along. This Saturday's screening runs from 12:00 to 04:13, so it's a midday start.
