A relaxed crochet workshop where participants learn to create an amigurumi bumblebee, with all materials included and individual support provided.
Stitch & Splodge are running a crochet workshop called Bee Happy at 32 Devonport Road, Stoke, on Saturday 18 July. It's a morning session from 10:00 to 13:00, and the whole thing is about making a bumblebee in the amigurumi style — that's the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed creatures in the round.

It's not a total beginner's class, so you'll want to have the basics of crochet down before you sign up. If you've got the fundamentals sorted, this is a way to take the next step. You'll be guided through the process step by step, with individual support along the way, so you're not just left to figure it out on your own. The group is kept small — six people maximum — which makes it easier to get a bit of one-on-one help when you hit a tricky bit.
One of the best things is that all the materials are included, so you can just turn up as you are without worrying about buying your own yarn or hooks. You'll leave with your own handmade bumblebee and a few new skills to use on your next project. The organisers describe it as a space to slow down and switch off, a few hours of mindful, creative time away from the usual rush.
It's a paid workshop, with tickets available through Eventbrite. It's listed as young person friendly (12-18), so it works for adults and teenagers alike. That's 10:00 to 13:00 at 32 Devonport Road, Stoke, on Saturday 18 July.
