The UK's No1 vocal harmony quartet G4 return with a celebration of musical theatre showstoppers.
G4 are back at Portsmouth Guildhall on Sunday 12 July with Phantoms of the Popera 2026, a night built around the big songs of musical theatre. The four of them — Jonathan Ansell, Michael Conway, Mike Christie and Duncan Sandilands — are the same line-up that first made their name on The X Factor, and they've spent the years since carving out a niche as the UK's leading vocal harmony quartet.

The set is a run through the West End and Broadway songbooks. They describe it as a "rollercoaster of uplifting melodies, heartbreaking ballads and climactic anthems," and the list of shows they draw from is long. You'll hear things from Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Jersey Boys, Hamilton, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Greatest Showman, Rent, Miss Saigon, The Book of Mormon, The Lion King, Aspects of Love, We Will Rock You, The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady and The Rocky Horror Show. It's a broad sweep of the stage, from the big orchestral ballads to the more character-driven numbers.
If you want more than just the show, there's a Meet & Greet with the group at 18:00, which includes a welcome drink, a chance to meet them, photos and autographs. The Guildhall also does hospitality packages and charcuterie boards, though those need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance. There's discounted parking you can reserve online or at the box office.
Doors open at 19:00, and tickets are between £25 and £35, with the booking fee included. It's open to families and general audiences, though anyone under 14 has to be accompanied by an adult over 18.
