If you've followed him for a while, you'll know that Lycett doesn't really do a standard stand-up set. He's built his name on taking on big companies and getting them to do things they'd rather not, and he's just as likely to be messing around with a prop or a prank as he is to be telling a joke. This is a new tour, so it's fresh material rather than a run-through of his old bits. He's described himself as "back and unleashed" for this one, which sounds like he's leaning into the more chaotic side of things.
It's a one-night-only date here in York, so it's not one of those runs where you can just pick another evening if you can't make the first. The Barbican is a big room, and given how he works, it'll be a full house. If you're into his brand of comedy โ the sort that's as much about the stunt as it is about the punchline โ this is the one to keep on your radar. The show is Do You Really Lycett? Is It, Is It Wicked?, and it lands at the York Barbican on Thursday 28 October 2027.
