Join artist Ralph Nel for a life drawing class covering techniques, tips, and tricks for all skill levels.
Ralph Nel is running a life drawing class at The Box on Friday 26 June, from 12:30 to 14:30. It's a drop-in session rather than a long-term commitment, so you can just turn up for the afternoon and see how you get on. The class is for adults, and it's open to everyone from people who've never picked up a pencil to those who've been drawing for years and want to push things a bit further.

Nel is a Plymouth-based artist and teacher with over ten years of experience, and he works across a range of drawing techniques with a particular interest in historical methods. He's a firm believer that anyone can draw, and that's the spirit he brings to the room. The session starts with some warm-up exercises to get you loose, and from there it's a mix of techniques, tips and tricks for drawing the human figure. It's not a one-size-fits-all approach; he works with each person individually, so if you're a complete beginner he'll help you find your feet, and if you're more experienced he'll give you something to chew on. All the materials are provided, though you're welcome to bring your own if you have a particular set you prefer.
If you find you've got the bug, this isn't a one-off. The class runs every Friday at 12:30 until 18 December, so you can come back week after week and build on what you've picked up. It's a good way to get a regular drawing practice going without having to commit to a full course right out of the gate. The session is £12 per person, and they recommend booking in advance. It's adults only, and it runs from 12:30 to 14:30.
