A live immersive tribute show to Coldplay featuring their greatest hits and LED wristbands for the audience.
Sky Full of Stars, the Coldplay tribute act, plays Portsmouth Guildhall on Thursday 10 September. They describe it as an immersive live experience, and the thing that sets it apart from a standard cover set is the LED wristbands they hand out to the crowd. They light up throughout the night, so you're part of the show rather than just watching it from your seat.

The set pulls from the band's biggest songs, with Viva La Vida, A Sky Full of Stars, Clocks, Yellow, Paradise and Hymn for the Weekend all on the list. It runs for about two hours, including an interval, so it's a full evening's worth of music rather than a short set. The whole thing is built around capturing the sound and spirit of the original band, with the wristbands doing a good job of bringing the light show into the room.
It's an all-ages show, though anyone under 14 needs to be with an adult over 18, and the tour lists a minimum age of two. If you're planning to arrive early, the Guildhall's Square Kitchen and Bars open from 18:15, and doors for the show are at 19:00. You can also get discounted parking tickets online or at the box office.
Tickets cost between £36.70 and £40.20, which includes a 17% booking fee. If you want to make a night of it, there are hospitality and charcuterie packages available to add on up until 24 hours before the show, subject to availability. Just a heads-up: cameras and tablets aren't allowed during the performance, so you'll have to leave yours in your bag.
