A live band tribute to Tina Turner fronted by Holly Bannis, celebrating the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll with classic hits.
Holly Bannis brings What's Love Got To Do With It? to Portsmouth Guildhall on Friday 4 September, a tribute to Tina Turner that runs through the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll's career. Bannis takes the lead with a live band behind her, and the show is split into two halves. The first part gathers the more melodic side of things, with Private Dancer as one of the songs. The second half shifts gears into the high-energy classics: Nutbush City Limits, Proud Mary, River Deep – Mountain High and Simply The Best all make an appearance. It's a tribute production, not backed or affiliated with the Tina Turner Estate.

There's a bit of family history to the lead role, too. Holly Bannis is the daughter of Greg Bannis, who was the lead singer of Hot Chocolate, so she's grown up around the kind of music this show is built on. That background comes through in the way she handles the set, and having a live band on stage keeps the energy up throughout both halves.
It's an all-ages show, though anyone under 14 needs to be accompanied by an adult over 18. If you're planning to make a proper evening of it, there are hospitality packages available, including charcuterie boards you can add to your booking up until 24 hours before the show, subject to availability. Doors open at 19:00, while The Square Kitchen and the bars open earlier at 18:15. Tickets range from £24 to £34, and that price includes a 17% booking fee.
